REGINA — Access Communications will bring the Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA) Awards to fans in a virtual show on May 16.
The SCMA show can be viewed via an online stream at myaccess.ca/access7/live/SCMA or on Access7 channels on Saturday starting at 8 p.m. CST. This event replaces the SCMA Awards Weekend which was originally scheduled to take place in Regina in mid-April.
“The show must go on and we are so excited to be bringing the SCMA show to Access subscribers across the province,” said Tracey Mucha, community programming manager at Access Communications, in the news release. “This is a showcase of the best talent in the province, and we are proud to partner with SCMA to find a new way to bring this entertainment to a wider audience despite the pandemic restrictions.”
The SCMA will honour the province’s best singers, songwriters, musicians, producers, media and industry professionals by announcing all the 2019 SCMA Award winners. (Pictured is Chris Henderson, male artist of the year for 2019.)
Performances by many SCMA artists, including past winners and current nominees, will take place during the virtual show. For more information about the SCMA virtual awards presentations, please click here.
