Sandvine posts 392% leap in Q2 profits

WATERLOO, ON – Second quarter profits at Sandvine jumped 392% year-over-year, from $0.9 million last year to $4.4 million for the period ended May 31, 2014.

Non-IFRS income of $4.8 million was up 246% from $1.4 million year-over-year, and revenue climbed 26% to $29.7 million, up from $23.5 million at this time last year.

Broken down by market, wireless sales accounted for 39% of Sandvine’s Q2 revenue, with DSL at 33%, and cable at 28%.  Revenue by sales channel was reseller 58% and direct 42%, while revenue by geography was North America (NA) 37%; Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) 31%; Asia and Pacific (APAC) 20% and Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) 12%.

"I am pleased that we were able to grow revenue in the second quarter by 26%, with contributions coming so broadly across our customer base," said president and CEO Dave Caputo, in a statement.

Sandvine's network policy control solutions add intelligence to fixed, mobile and converged communications service provider networks to enable services that can increase revenue and reduce network costs.  Those network policy control solutions are deployed in more than 250 networks in over 90 countries, serving hundreds of millions of data subscribers worldwide.
