WATERLOO, ON – Network management solutions provider Sandvine has inked a partnership with Optenet to develop a parental control platform for broadband subscribers worldwide.
The platform will leverage Optenet’s content filtering and threat analysis with Sandvine’s application and subscriber-awareness capabilities to provide real-time classification of Web content, giving subscribers the ability to configure preferences at an individual and household level to determine what content is acceptable. These preferences are still enforced even when the cache is cleared or another browser is used, meaning that parents won’t have to seek out third-party security solutions for keeping their kids safe on the Web.
“Internet service providers are looking for more and more ways to offer personalized services and increase the overall quality of experience for their subscribers,” said Tom Donnelly, Sandvine’s co-founder and EVP of sales and marketing, in the announcement. “Our integrated parental controls solution is an excellent way for service providers to put the controls in the hands of their users and enhance customer loyalty with customized service-provider-branded filtering service.”
