TORONTO – Canadian digi-net Salt + Light Television today launched Zoom, a "four-minute window to the Catholic world" to the web, what it believes to be the world’s first daily Catholic webcast.
Updated every weekday at 7 p.m. (in English and French), Zoom is available on www.saltandlighttv.org. This online update – which expands the brand of the channel’s Zoom TV show – presents the "significant events of the day that touch the life of the 12 million Catholics across the country and those interested in the religious sphere," says the press release.
“January 24th, feast of St. Francis de Sales (patron saint of the journalists) presents the perfect day to launch this service, which will allow people to follow the rhythm of the Church in image and sound," said Father Thomas Rosica C.S.B., who is S+L’s CEO. The free service "is in response to the numerous requests that Salt + Light has received that we decided to launch Zoom online. The four minute daily recap show has enjoyed tremendous success and feedback on the network since September 2005."
