Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean area next to benefit from high-speed Internet

DOLBEAU-MISTASSINI, QC - Some 40 communities in Quebec’s Saguenay region will soon have access to faster Internet speeds thanks to the federal government’s Connecting Canadians program.Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for Quebec said Monday that the feds will provide over $2 million to local Internet service providers Télénet Informatique and Digicom Internet sans fil to connect over 6,000 homes in the Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean area."The Connecting Canadians program helps rural communities expand high-speed Internet access and leverage the economic development that can come with it”, said Minister Lebel, in a statement. ...
