TORONTO – S-VOX is now operating Vancouver-based CHNU-TV and its Winnipeg sister station CIIT-TV. They are the first two conventional broadcasters owned by the faith and spirituality focused media company.
The CRTC last month approved the acquisition of these two local stations from Rogers, which chose to sell the stations when they moved to acquire the Citytv network.
"We are proud to add these vibrant local stations to the S-VOX family of channels, and look forward to helping them build on their current strengths to become leaders in their respective local marketplaces,” said S-VOX president and CEO Bill Roberts, in a press release.
S-VOX took over the day-to-day management of CHNU-TV on May 26, and will assume control of CIIT-TV’s operations on June 30.
The new flagship series, The Daily: with Mark & Laura-Lynn, is now in production and will premiere on CHNU-TV on Monday, June 2. CIIT-TV will begin airing the series on June 30.
The half-hour weekday talk and information program, hosted by former BC Lions defensive back Mark Washington and Vancouver broadcast personality Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, is produced by S-VOX and Trillennium Media Group.
S-VOX will introduce new program schedules and new branding for CHNU-TV and CIIT-TV (which were branded as OMNIs) in September. Toronto-based marketing agencies Cundari SFP and Loopmedia have been hired to develop the rebranding campaign.
