Rural broadband: $2.5 million for 1,650 households in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean

A COMBINED INVESTMENT of almost $2.5 million from the federal government, the government of Quebec, and Bell Canada has led to more than 1,650 households in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region having access to broadband internet. The communities of L'Anse-Saint-Jean, Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, Saint-Félicien and Saint-Ambroise, now have access to Bell’s all-fibre network extension. This project was carried out as part of a large intergovernmental initiative to provide connectivity to 24,000 households in 58 regions of Quebec, says the press release.
