TORONTO – The 2006 RTNDA Awards – to be presented in 2007, both regionally and nationally – will have six more award categories.
They are:
Best Videography – TV Regional/Network
To be awarded to the station, which, in the opinion of the judges shows an outstanding and creative use of video to tell a story.
Use of Sound (Radio) – TV Regional/Network
To be awarded to the station which, in the opinion of the judges, displays an outstanding and creative use of sound.
Best use of Digital Media
To be awarded to a radio or television station which uses the web to present news and information in a timely and compelling manner.
Information Program (Radio)
To be awarded to the station which, in the opinion of the judges, displays overall excellence in the content and presentation of a regularly scheduled news information program which is not a daily newscast.
News Information Program (Television)
To be awarded to the station, which, in the opinion of the judges displays excellent content and presentation in a regularly scheduled news information program which is not a daily newscast.
Diversity Award
To be awarded to the station that demonstrates leadership in recruitment and/or mentoring of journalists from visible minorities, aboriginal communities or people with disabilities.
