OTTAWA – Ross Video has formed a non-exclusive technology partnership with Hitachi Kokusai Electric America to explore emerging production technologies.

At the 2016 NAB Show later this month, Hitachi will demonstrate system wide camera setup and control via the Ross DashBoard control system, fully integrated with Ross robotics camera control systems.  In addition, Hitachi has developed 4K and 8K camera platforms that will be on the show floor at NAB, and both companies will demonstrate UHD production utilizing their respective products.

“In today’s environment no company can be an island.  Collaboration with industry peers is essential to not only leverage expertise, but also to drive more quickly to the goal of common shared standards and platforms,” said Ross CEO David Ross, in the news release.  “Our philosophy has always been to work closely with peers and competitors in the best interest of our customers.”

“The broadcast infrastructure continues to evolve with the proliferation of high-end formats, and the quickly accelerating migration from legacy to networked video and audio systems,” added CEO Hiroaki Ohashi. “Common interconnects and control protocols are essential in creating efficient workflows and providing the highest quality results – a challenge that Hitachi and Ross are well-positioned to address given each company’s unique and tireless approach to broadcast innovation.”
