MONTREAL – On Monday, Radio Energie listeners will have another way to listen to François Pérusse’s minute du peuple – on their Rogers Wireless phones.
Starting February 20th, the Astral Media stations will celebrate the 15-year career and 10 000th minute du peuple from Pérusse by letting fans download the morning sketch onto their cell phones, whenever they want. The content is exclusive to Rogers.
"I am very happy to be in people’s phones…I just hope I won’t end up in their vacuum cleaners!" said Pérusse in the press release.
On Monday, during the morning show, C’t’encore drôle, on Radio Energie 94.3, François will be in the studio with Pierre Pagé, Mitsou and Eric Salvail to launch his very first downloadable sketch for Rogers Wireless subscribers, which listeners will be able to hear at 6:20, 7:20 and 8:20.
Then, every hour, Energie will broadcast the Top 15 de Pérusse, a retrospective of vintage moments from each year, from 1990 to today, as chosen by Pérusse. Throughout the day, listeners will have on-air chances to win Rogers MP3 phones.
Each morning sketch will be available for download for Rogers Wireless subscribers only, by dialing FP or 4545. And, starting February 27th, the sketches will also be available for download from www.casonneperusse.com.
"Given the success of François Pérusse’s original downloadable ring tunes, this project had to evolve along with the technology. His irrepressible humour and his unique personality are exactly what Rogers wants to offer its customers," said Sylvie Charette, senior director of marketing and communications for Rogers Wireless in Québec.
The 2 minutes du peuple have earned Pérusse and Energie many awards, including the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Gold Ribbon Award, handed out by The Canadian Association of Broadcasters, as well as two Olivier awards in 2005.
