MONCTON – Consumers in Newfoundland and New Brunswick “in coming months" will be able to automate their home security when Rogers begins offering its Smart Home Monitoring service. The service also can take control of a home`s lights, cameras, thermostats, and appliances remotely through a smartphone, computer or tablet. Bell Aliant also announced earlier today it would be rolling out a similar service sometime this spring. Both services are still subject to licensing approvals and pricing has still not been set.
"We know Canadians want to be connected wherever they go. With Smart Home Monitoring from Rogers, we have enabled Canadians to stay connected online to their homes wherever they are," said Ian Pattinson, Vice-President & General Manager, Rogers Communications. "Last year we brought this connected home of the future to Ontarians in the Rogers cable footprint, and we are pleased to announce our plans to expand this service to Newfoundland and New Brunswick, and complete service availability in English and French."
Rogers says its Smart Home Monitoring does more than protect the security of your home.
