TORONTO – Published reports say that Rogers Communications is nearing a deal to move into Nortel Networks’ headquarters in Brampton, Ont. The Brampton Guardian newspaper reported Wednesday that a deal seemed likely. No, Rogers wouldn’t be moving from 333 Bloor St. E. to Brampton, but expanding into the Nortel location. Nortel, say the reports, is consolidating operations in Ottawa. With recent acquisitions Microcell and Call-Net, Rogers simply needs more room and the Nortel facility once housed 5,000 employees.
