TORONTO — Following on its exclusive deal last summer to distribute WWE’s flagship programming in Canada, Rogers announced today it has reached carriage agreements for WWE Network with multiple television providers.
Rogers became the exclusive Canadian distributor of WWE Network through 2024 in a 10-year broadcast and multimedia agreement reached with WWE in August.
In addition to Rogers and Eastlink, the premium WWE Network linear TV channel will soon be available to Cogeco Cable Canada, Shaw and Shaw Direct, Telus Optik TV and Telus Satellite TV, and Vidéotron subscribers. (In a Rogers press release issued today, no word was given of whether or not any similar deal is in the works with Bell.)
Telus Satellite TV and Vidéotron are scheduled to launch WWE Network on February 25, while Cogeco Cable Canada expects to launch the channel on March 26. Telus Optik TV, Shaw and Shaw Direct will announce their March launch dates in the coming weeks, according to the Rogers news release.
WWE Network’s premium programming includes every live WWE pay-per-view event, including next month’s Wrestlemania on March 29, as well as original series, live in-ring action, reality shows and a video-on-demand library. Additionally, subscribers can access nearly 3,000 hours of WWE Network content online via PC or laptop.
