TORONTO – Rogers is helping Canadian businesses to better safeguard themselves online with a new cloud-based service designed to protect their social media accounts.
Social Media Security by Rogers monitors, identifies and takes quick action against potential threats or hacks to profiles on a business' social media channels, the company said Wednesday. The service includes tools from U.S. cybersecurity company ZeroFOX that can identify malicious posts, profiles, content and false accounts; provide real-time alerts of security threats including customer scams, piracy, account take-overs and impersonations; and facilitate an expedited take down of content.
"A cyber attack on a social media profile has the potential to cost a business millions of dollars, or worse, lasting reputational damage," said Rogers’ Enterprise Business Unit president Nitin Kawale, in the news release. "We're focused on providing customers with cyber security solutions that protect their business and customer data, and Social Media Security by Rogers is the latest in a portfolio that we'll continue to expand this year. We are committed to providing these solutions as a service, which means our team of experts manages the day-to-day so customers can focus on growing their business."
