MONCTON and TORONTO – Rogers is rolling out two new unlimited usage Internet plans under the banner of Rogers Ignite.
All new Rogers Ignite plans come with unlimited usage and download speeds of up to 100 Mbps ($59.99 for the first three months, $84.99 thereafter) and up to 250 Mbps ($64.99/$94.99). The plans include a Wi-Fi modem rental, and subscriptions to Rogers NHL GameCentre Live and shomi. The new plans are for Rogers wired internet and not Rogers Wireless. The company also announced a lower-cost new 60 Mbps plan capped at 200 GB of data per month ($49.99/$74.99).
Rogers also released new independent testing that shows its customers continue to enjoy fast, reliable Internet service, getting on average 100% or more of advertised speeds even during the network 'rush hour' of 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The company said that the results are based on over 1.6 million network tests done by SamKnows, a global leader in Internet performance measurement trusted by governments, ISPs and consumers alike, with data collected from customers' homes over the past month.
"Canadians expect a reliable Internet connection to power the multiple devices they have in their homes, so they can stream TV, search and download music without interruptions," said Rogers’ senior director Robert Goodman, in the news release. "This study shows that we continue to bring customers the Internet speeds we advertise and that they are getting value for their money."
The company has shown a 60% increase in its customers' internet usage, year over year.
