Rogers Ignite TV customers getting ad-supported Disney+ for free


Rogers Communications and Disney Entertainment announced Tuesday the ad-supported version of Disney+ is now available to Rogers TV customers as part of their eligible Ignite TV package at no additional cost.

“We want to deliver more value to our customers and create a more seamless viewing experience,” Bret Leech, president of residential services at Rogers, said in a press release. “By integrating Disney+, we’re adding even more value to our entertainment packages and making it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the shows and movies they love.”

“Rogers is one of our most valued and long-standing Canadian partners,” said Justin Connolly, president of platform distribution at Disney Entertainment. “With the inclusion of our unrivaled Disney+ content as part of Rogers premier TV packages moving forward, we are embracing consumer convenience and meeting them where they are.”

Disney+ is the streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, the Star Wars franchise and National Geographic, as well as exclusive original programs, documentaries, live-action and animated series, and short-form content. Some of the programming currently available includes the current season of The KardashiansCriminal Minds: Evolution and Doctor Who, as well as upcoming premieres such as season three of FX’s The Bear (June 27), Bluey Minisodes (July 3), and season four of Only Murders in the Building (August 27).

Telus has been offering Disney+ Premium to Optik TV customers as a premium streaming platform option at no additional cost since December. Earlier this month, the telecom began offering Telus Mobility customers 24 months of access to Disney+ Standard for free on eligible 5G+ Premium Unlimited rate plans. Disney+ is also available through Telus’s Stream+ bundle.
