TORONTO – Randy Reynolds has been hired as president of Rogers Telecom.
He replaces David Masotti, who came over with Call-Net (Sprint Canada) when Rogers purchased that company earlier this year and turned it into Rogers Telecom. The company gave no reason for Masotti’s departure. Masotti also had a stint with Rogers Cable in the 1990s.
Reynolds started today and reports to Nadir Mohamed, president and COO, Communications Group, Rogers Communications Inc. Rogers Telecom is focused on serving the communication needs of small, medium and large businesses across Canada.
"We view the business market as a growth opportunity for our company and Randy is the ideal executive to build on the success of this organization in meeting the evolving needs of the Canadian business community", said Mohamed.
Reynolds has extensive telecom experience, primarily with various companies of Bell Canada, including as president and CEO of BCE Mobile, and president and CEO of Bell Nexxia. As president and CEO of Bell West, he was responsible for expanding Bell’s presence in Western Canada, targeting enterprise and medium sized business accounts. Bell West has since been folded into the Bell Canada umbrella.
Rogers Telecom is not just the Call-Net assets as it also brings together the products and services of Rogers Wireless and Rogers Cable in a single point of access.
