TORONTO – Rogers Communications has upgraded two of its most popular high speed Internet plans to include faster download speeds and higher monthly data allowances.
The company’s ‘Express’ package will boost its download speeds from up to 12 Mbps to up to 18 Mbps and data allowances from 60 GB to 70 GB, while its ‘Extreme’ package will see download speeds increase from up to 24 Mbps to up to 28 Mbps and data allowance from 100 GB to 120 GB. The package prices will also jump by an extra two dollars per month to $48.99 and $61.99, respectively.
Rogers said that it will begin rolling out the new speeds this week and that all new and existing customers will have the new limits by early March, which is also when the new fees are set to kick in.
“Rogers customers are increasingly watching movies on Rogers on Demand Online, working from home and using multiple devices like tablets and laptops connected by Wi-Fi to the internet," said EVP and chief marketing officer John Boynton, in Wednesday’s announcement. “The ways Canadians are using the internet are changing dramatically and we are constantly reviewing our plans and policies to ensure they deliver the best possible customer experience that lines up with evolving needs and usage patterns."
