Rogers greenlights 11 new Canadian originals for HGTV and Food Network

As the one-year anniversary approaches for Rogers’s licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery for the rights to the HGTV and Food Network brands and English-language U.S. content, Rogers Sports and Media announced Monday it has greenlit 11 new Canadian original series — representing more than 115 hours of programming — for the Canadian versions of the lifestyle channels.

“We are proud to collaborate with an incredible group of Canadian production partners and personalities to bring nearly 120 hours of original unscripted programming with both big household names and new voices,” Kale Stockwell, director of original programming at Rogers Sports and Media, said in a press release. “Whether it’s home renos, visually stunning culinary creations or inspiring home design, this robust and competitive slate builds on the foundation of what makes HGTV and Food Network so popular with viewers and offers unique opportunities for advertisers.”

Starting in fall 2025, the series premiering on HGTV include: Small Town Escapes with Colin & Justin (20 episodes x 30 minutes, produced by Ocean Entertainment); The County (10 x 60, RTR Media) featuring designer Sarah Keenleyside; and a new project with interior designer Sarah Richardson (details still to be announced). The new titles debuting on Food Network include: Andy’s East Coast Kitchen Crawl (12 x 30, Proper Television) featuring MasterChef Canada finalist Andy Hay; Bake Master Battle (8 x 60) hosted by Breakfast Television’s Dina Pugliese; Come Dine with Me Canada (60 x 30, Blink49 Studios) based on the culinary competition format by ITV Studios; and David Rocco’s Eating Dirty (13 x 30, Rockhead Entertainment), which follows the celebrity chef on a food-fueled journey through Italy. All of the series will also be available to stream on Citytv+.

In addition, Rogers Sports and Media announced it is working with Drew and Jonathan Scott and their production company Scott Brothers Entertainment on a new show, Property Brothers: Commitment Issues (working title, 14 x 60), set to premiere on HGTV in 2026.

“As Vancouver natives, Canada has a special place in our hearts and we always strive to make sure that our shows are available to Canadian audiences,” Drew and Jonathan Scott said in a statement. “It’s exciting to work with Rogers to expand our offerings in this market and we think audiences are really going to love some of the new content we have coming up, including the new series Property Brothers: Commitment Issues, in which we’ll help hesitant home buyers commit to a home purchase by transforming it into their dream space.”

Two other projects from Scott Brothers Entertainment have also been greenlit by Rogers, including The Emily Michelle Project (8 x 60) and Top of the Block (40 x 30), both of which will be in production this summer.

Finally, Rogers Sports and Media announced the HGTV hit show Home Town Takeover is expanding the format north of the border with Home Town Takeover Canada (8 x 60, RTR Media), featuring home renovation and design couple Ben and Erin Napier and a yet-to-be-named Canadian talent. The location, host and broadcast details for the series will be announced in the coming months, Rogers said.
