Rogers, Fleischmann and Hughes get more duties at CTV News


TORONTO –CTV News announced Tuesday that Paul Rogers, senior vice-president, CTV News, adds editorial responsibilities for CTV’s 21 local stations to his portfolio; Jack Fleischmann, general manager for BNN – Business News Network, adds CTV News Channel to his responsibilities; and David Hughes becomes executive producer CTV National News.

Reporting to Wendy Freeman, president of news, Rogers is now serving as the point person for local CTV station news directors on editorial issues requiring guidance or direction while maintaining his current responsibilities at CTV Toronto. Rogers has been the senior vice-president, CTV News since 2004.

Jack Fleischmann expands his duties to include CTV News Channel while continuing his role as the General Manager of BNN. A long time television executive, Fleischmann has been involved in broadcast and online news in Canada for the past 30 years. It was more than 10 years ago that he launched Canada’s first all-news business channel, Report on Business Television, later to become BNN, and as the General Manager, he is responsible for both the business itself and its editorial direction.

Hughes is no stranger to this news division as for the last 10 years he has been the senior producer of CTV National News With Lloyd Robertson. During his tenure he has helped shape news coverage ranging from the Iraq War to the Olympics.
