TORONTO – Rogers Communications’ Fido brand this week launched the Fido Payment Program, which allows customers to spread the cost of a new phone or tablet over 24 equal monthly payments at 0% interest.
Rogers launched similar payment programs for devices last year, but only on its primary brand. This is the next step to phasing out device subsidies for its city brand. While most devices will not require a down-payment, some higher end devices may require one.
The monthly service fee and the cost of the device are shown separately on the bill, and at the end of the payment program, the cost of the device automatically drops off.
Fido XTRA (the brand’s perks program) also launched a new contest this week, giving Fido customers the chance to win one year of free Fido service. Ten winners will be selected each month for the next year and each winner receives a one-time credit representing a year of Fido service (one mobile line or Internet service), to be applied to their Fido account.
Customers can enter the contest daily via Fido XTRA to increase their chances of winning and winners will be contacted through the Fido app.
The first round of the contest ends on March 4, 2020, and to be eligible for round one, customers must be an existing Fido Mobile or Internet postpaid customer before February 6, 2020.
