TORONTO – Rogers is rolling out a new tool designed to save their customers time by allowing them to use their phone to track exactly when a technician will arrive for an installation or service call.
The service, called Rogers EnRoute, sends a unique URL to the customer by email or text once an appointment has been booked. On the day of the appointment, a reminder notification is sent, along with an updated ETA. Once the technician is on the way, customers may receive real-time updates by checking a map to see the technician's exact whereabouts and estimated number of minutes until arrival.
Now available in Hamilton, the company said that the Rogers EnRoute service will roll out across its residential footprint this year and into early 2017. Fido is also offering its Fido EnRoute service for Internet customers starting immediately.
"No one likes to sit around waiting for their technician to arrive," said chief customer officer Deepak Khandelwal, in Monday’s news release. "We know our customers are busy and their time is valuable, so now they can track a technician's ETA right on their phone. It's just one more way we're putting people in control to get help how they want."
