TORONTO – As Cartt.ca first reported yesterday, Rogers Cable has launched new pay service Super Channel.
The new service will be available to Rogers customers in Ontario and New Brunswick and will only feature the channel’s four standard definition channels. Super Channel also has a pair of high definition channels – which Bell ExpressVu offers, for example.
The four channels are: Super Channel 1 (channel 368) provides series, movies, documentaries and music; for viewers who tend to like “alternative” programming, Super Channel 2 (channel 369) may be a favourite because in addition to action, horror, and sci-fi programming this channel carries anime, unique comedies, extreme sports, gaming and music; Super Channel 3 (channel 370) is skewed to a female audience and carries light comedies, romantic comedies, thought-provoking documentaries, serious drama, world festival movies and Bollywood entertainment; and Super Channel 4 (channel 371) brings viewers premium programming shot and produced in Canada and the channel also carries Canadian-themed content.
Super Channel will premiere a new movie every night of the year and Rogers will also launch an On Demand service, which will be included with subscription to Super Channel, at a later date.
Rogers PersonalTV customers can order the Super Channel package of four standard definition services for $15.99 a month plus the rental or purchase of a digital box.
