Rogers brings 5G to 14 more Quebec towns


MONTREAL — Rogers Communications announced today it has expanded its 5G network to reach 14 new communities in Quebec, bringing the total number of towns and cities in the province that currently have access to Rogers 5G to more than 80.

The 14 communities where Rogers has recently expanded its 5G network are Beauharnois, Beloeil, Blainville, Châteauguay, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, La Prairie, L’île-Perrot, Pointe-Claire, Repentigny, Rosemère, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Saint-Charles-Borromée, Saint-Lazare and Vaudreuil-Dorion.

The 5G expansion is part of Rogers’s investments over the last 18 months to enhance wireless network connectivity in more than 162 communities throughout the province, according to a Rogers press release. The company says it plans to improve connectivity in a total of 360 Quebec communities by the end of the year.

Rogers’s investments in 2020 in Quebec “resulted in a total economic footprint in Quebec of over $2.4 billion of output, including over 10,000 full-time jobs generated and supported,” according to the release.

Rogers also today released a video featuring some of the members of its Quebec network team who are helping to build the Rogers 5G network.
