Rogers, Bell Aliant target SMBs

TORONTO and HALIFAX – Neatly coinciding with national small business month, both Rogers and Bell Aliant have launched new services aimed squarely at small and medium-sized businesses.

Rogers unveiled its Business Phone, which offers features like line hunting, to ensure that calls are routed to open lines when the first line is busy, as well as business on-line manager, which allows business owners to manage their phone features from a single website.

The Rocket Hub connects to the mobile Internet over Rogers 7.2 Mpbs HSPA network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet to allow multiple devices to share one Internet connection and its UMTS network for voice.  It is ideal for providing voice and high speed internet services in areas that do not have fixed line infrastructure.

Bell Aliant’s offering integrates phone, Internet and IT in a package called Total Office. The service includes fully managed Internet access, Centrex voice services, business collaboration and productivity tools such as Microsoft business email, and a PC-based phone.

The company describes Total Office as a simple, convenient and flexible way for medium-sized businesses to increase productivity, collaboration and reduce expenses. All components are provided and maintained by Bell Aliant, and comes with a dedicated technical support service.
