TORONTO – Score Media recorded third-quarter profits of $748,000 as revenue climbed by 10%.
Revenue for the quarter ended May 31, 2011 was $13.2 million, up from $12.0 million year-over-year, while EBITDA was $2.2 million compared to $1.9 million in the same period last year, the company said Thursday. Net income grew by $180,000 from $568,000 in the third quarter of 2010.
Chairman and CEO John Levy called the results “another strong quarter of growth”.
"Our core television operations continue to perform very well”, Levy said in a statement. “In addition, with the rapid organic growth of ScoreMobile and our acquisition of SportsTap, we are making significant strides in the expansion of our digital media business, particularly in the United States."
In other company news, Score Media has added Lars Laakes to its digital products team as director of software engineering.
Most recently at Logitech, Laakes has over twenty years of industry experience through various positions at Microsoft and ADP, and was a co-founder of ObjectArts Inc.
