BURLINGTON, Ont. – Canadian motorsports channel REV TV announced today it will present coverage of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), starting with a one-hour show on March 21, which will highlight the 1000 Miles of Sebring.
Now in its 10th season, the championship will feature four classes of cars (Hypercar, LMP2, LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am) and six races, “including one of motorsports crown jewels, the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” a press release explains.
“It is a great pleasure to have the incredible endurance sportscar racing action that the FIA World Endurance Championship embodies,” said Mike Garrow, president of REV TV, in the press release.
“Across ten seasons, the WEC has been chock full of action and excitement, and races like the storied 24 Hours of Le Mans are the ultimate proving ground for manufacturers, teams and drivers. Fans across Canada are sure to be thrilled as WEC and the gorgeous new Hypercar category usher in a new era of sportscar racing,” he said.
Earlier this week, REV TV announced in another press release that “following a tremendously successful airing of the thrilling conclusion of the Rolex 24 at Daytona,” it will carry the remaining 11 rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
REV TV will carry the rounds “live in their entirety with limited commercial breaks,” the release says.
The next round of the championship is the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, which REV TV will air March 19, at 10 a.m. ET.
“Canadian race fans absolutely adore sports car racing, and it is a pleasure to bring them North America’s premiere sports car organization IMSA,” said Garrow, in the press release.
“We had an incredible response to the equally incredible race that was the Rolex 24, and we can’t wait to bring marquee events like the Twelve Hours of Sebring, and the Sportscar Grand Prix from our home track, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, with limited breaks thanks to our wonderful sponsorship partners WeatherTech, Pfaff Motorsports and Hagerty Insurance Canada.”
