“Renewed focus” helps boost Q4 profits at Corus

TORONTO – Despite a dip in fourth quarter revenues, Corus saw profits jump by over $27 million from a year ago.The company said Wednesday that net income attributable to shareholders for the quarter ended August 31, 2017 was $28.9 million, up 15.7% from the $25,000 posted in the same period last year, which includes business acquisition, integration and restructuring costs of $13.3 million.  Adjusting for the impact of these items resulted in an adjusted net income attributable to shareholders of $43.9 million.Consolidated revenues for the quarter of $381.2 million dipped 1% from $384.5 million year-over-year, while consolidated segment profit of...
