TORONTO – The SCTE Ontario Chapter has opened registration for the Commercial Services Symposium and Vendor Trade Show to be held Tuesday October 21st at the Premier Ballroom and Convention Centre at 9019 Leslie Street, Richmond Hill, Ontario.
This SCTE Ontario Chapter Fall Meeting will explore the opportunity and technical requirements for deploying and supporting commercial business services. The presentations will discuss deployment technologies and highlight best-practices. Of particular interest will be the real-world examples and case studies of successful commercial and small-business deployments including video, data, telephone, and triple play installations.

In other news, there will be a one-day technical training seminar called Cable TV Boot Camp, hosted by SCTE Ontario with guest trainer Glenn Shield on Wednesday Nov. 26, 2008 at the Marconi Club Of London, 120 Clarke Rd, London Ontario
Also, three SCTE Ontario Chapter director positions are available for nominations. These board positions require a two-year commitment to continue the ongoing educational and professional development work organized by the Ontario Chapter. These positions have a responsibility to further the technical knowledge and craftsmanship of the Cable Technicians within the membership. A director position does require a current SCTE membership.
Members can nominate people within the cable company/vendor community to fill these positions. Nomination forms for the director positions are available on the SCTE Ontario Chapter web site.
Nominations will close November 15th, 2008 and on-line elections will be held December 1st through to the 15th, 2008.
