TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund’s cross-country consultation tour kicks off September 12 with stops in 18 cities in all provinces and territories to get input from industry stakeholders about best practices for supporting content creation.
First announced August 6, the CMF has now finalized venue and time information for focus groups taking place at each stop along the tour. The focus groups will provide a forum for stakeholders to discuss issues surrounding policy on funding, CMF-supported activities, criteria for defining eligible Canadian content, and more.
With the current two-year program guidelines coming to an end, the CMF hopes to use stakeholders’ feedback to shape policy for 2014-15 and beyond.
The focus groups will be led by CMF president and CEO Valerie Creighton, Stéphane Cardin, VP of industry and public affairs, or Nathalie Clermont, director of program management.
All documents presented and discussed during the consultation process will be posted to the CMF website. CMF stakeholders are invited to share comments and questions via the CMF website’s Feedback section or through its social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook.
Each focus group will last between two to three hours. To register to attend one of the CMF consultation sessions, click here. For more information about consultation focus groups dates and venues, click here.
