REGISTRATION IS NOW open for the 2010 SCTE Ontario Chapter CableTec Games, to be held once again at the Mississauga Grand Banquet Hall, 35 Brunel Road, on June 21st.
The top three overall winners from these games will win their entrance fee and $1,000 CDN for expenses to the SCTE 2010 Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana, October 20-22, 2010 – and also participate in the SCTE National Cable-Tec Games while there.
Also June 21st is day one of the chapter’s two-day IP and Ethernet Boot Camp. Registration is now open for that educational seminar, too. It’s also set for the Mississauga Grand Banquet Hall.
The training session will cover the following main topics:
• IP Addressing (V4 and an Introduction to V6)
• Routing and Routing Protocols
• Session (HTTP, SIP, NCS, FTP)
• DOCSIS
• Ethernet
The content of the session is aimed at those from field technical and engineering backgrounds, with minimal to intermediate IP networking experience, and is expected to provide a solid understanding of layers 1 through 4 of the OSI (Open System Interconnection) Reference Model.
