TORONTO – Registration is now open for the Canada Media Fund (CMF) cross-country consultations that it says will help to shape its policy and future programs.

The process will comprise a number of components, including focus groups in 18 cities, in all provinces and territories, as well as a series of industry working groups.  The first focus group is scheduled for September 10 in Moncton (en Francais) and the last will take place October 25 in Whitehorse.  Each session will last between two to three hours and registration is available here.

All CMF stakeholders will have an opportunity to consider how significant shifts in content consumption habits, rapidly-evolving market conditions, as well as policy and regulatory changes will impact the CMF’s funding programs, particularly in light of the government’s Creative Canada Policy Framework and the recently-launched review of the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Acts, says the organization.  Feedback received from stakeholders will contribute to shaping CMF policy and programs "for the foreseeable future."

The CMF will also conduct a series of working groups with industry stakeholders to delve more deeply into specific, program-related topics.

Stakeholders are also encouraged to share comments and questions via the CMF website or through its social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook using #CMFconsults in any tweets or posts on the subject.
