
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced Monday the appointment of Jordan Evans, founder of S&R Management and co-founder of Golden Child Recordings, to its board of directors.
Evans is a Toronto-based record producer, songwriter and music executive, who has produced and written for artists including Jay-Z, Eminem, Drake, John Legend and H.E.R., and currently manages Canadian R&B artist Daniel Caesar alongside longtime music partner Matthew Burnett.
“Jordan has built an incredible career working across every facet of the music industry as a producer, songwriter, manager and executive,” Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS/The Juno Awards, said in a press release announcing Evans’s appointment to the CARAS board.
“His passion for artists and his experience working in Canada and around the world will bring a valuable perspective to our Board. We’re thrilled to welcome him as we continue our work to champion Canadian music globally,” Reid said.
Evans joins a group of Canadian music industry leaders on the not-for-profit organization’s board, which provides “strategic guidance and oversight to CARAS and its mandate to educate, develop, celebrate and honour Canadian music and the people who make it,” the CARAS press release said.
The 2026-2027 CARAS and MusiCounts board of directors and officers include:
- Chair – Julie Adam, president and CEO of Universal Music Canada
- President and CEO/Executive Producer – Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS/The Juno Awards
- First Vice Chair – Kate Purchase, senior director of international AI governance at Microsoft
- Second Vice Chair – Philippe Archambault, general manager of Audiogram and vice president of music at Quebecor
- Secretary – Adam Burchill, vice president of marketing at Maple Leaf Sports and Entetainment
- Directors:
- Jennifer Dettman, executive director of unscripted content at CBC
- Jordan Evans, founder of S&R Management and co-founder of Golden Child Recordings
- Laurie Lee Boutet, founder of Wednesday Management
- Madelaine Napoleone, co-general manager at Warner Music Canada
- Ryan Balaski, senior vice president of music at Live Nation Canada
- Shane Carter, president of Sony Music Entertainment Canada
- Hussain “Spek” Yoosuf, founder and CEO of PopArabia and ESMAA, and executive vice president of international and emerging markets at Reservoir Media
