RCMP seize satellite theft equipment from Quebec home

SAGUENAY, QC - Acting on a tip from a citizen, the RCMP in Quebec searched a Saguenay (Chicoutimi) residence late last week and seized equipment used to steal satellite signals. The officers from the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Detachment, working within the Financial Integrity Program, found modified receivers, illegal access cards, various hardware, software packages and other components used to steal satellite signals in the home, the press release detailed. Charges under the Radiocommunication Act could be laid against the owner of the residence, the release continued. The investigation continues to determine the involvement of other individuals.
