TORONTO – Astral Media’s 97.3 EZ Rock, 99.9 MIX FM and NEWSTALK 1010 CFRB launched their annual Radiothon here Wednesday from the Atrium of the Hospital for Sick Children.
From 6am to 6pm on March 26, 27 and 28, all three Toronto Astral Media Radio Stations are interviewing patients, families, doctors and friends from the Hospital in an effort to raise funds for the Hospital.
Last year’s event set a new world record by raising an unprecedented $3.7 million dollars for Sick Kids.
“Every year we are so thankful to all of our listeners for their astounding generosity,” said Astral Media Radio General Manager Pat Holiday. “With our world record of $3.7 million raised last year, we have high hopes for this year’s event. Our Toronto listeners always open their hearts to the children at Sick Kids and help make a tremendous difference.”
The SickKids Radiothon has won several international awards at the Children’s Miracle Network Conference in Orlando over the last 4 years. 97.3 EZ Rock, Newstalk 1010 CFRB, and 99.9 MIX FM won the award for Best Memorial Montage for the 2005 and 2006 Radiothons.
