
DARTMOUTH – David J. Murray is retiring from his position as chief operating officer of Newfoundland Capital Corporation and will be replaced by former Bell Media exec Ian Lurie.
Murray, who has been with the company for 25 years, including the last eight as COO, will be retiring effective June 30. Tuesday’s announcement said that Murray “has been an integral part of the growth and success of the company.”
Lurie, pictured, will step in to the COO role beginning July 6, 2015. His radio broadcasting background includes 19 years at Standard Radio, six years at Astral Radio, and, most recently a stint as senior vice-president English Radio at Bell Media.
Lurie will be based in Toronto and will be responsible for all of the company's broadcasting operations, including Newcap Radio which holds 95 radio licences across Canada.
