Radio host who called out critical listener on air did not breach broadcast codes: CBSC

OTTAWA - Listener feedback sent to a radio station is not confidential, and the host who responded to the criticism on air did not breach any broadcast codes, the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) has determined.The CBSC investigated a complaint by a listener of CFBK-FM (105.5 Moose FM, Huntsville, ON).  During an editorial segment entitled “Shots & Afterthoughts” on December 3, 2014, a Moose FM host responded to criticisms the station had received from a listener.  A listener had sent a private Facebook message to the station, complaining about the music played on the station and the interview skills of one particular host.That...
