MONTREAL – Quebecor Content is behind a new television dance competition that will debut in Quebec before the format waltzes over to English Canada, the U.S. and internationally.
Revolution will feature solo, duet and group dancers as they vie for a $100,000 grand prize. Originally developed jointly by Quebecor Content and Montreal-based producer Groupe Fair-Play, Omnicom Media Group’s Highway Entertainment is also part of the partnership to fund and distribute the show.
“Revolution is a new and unique TV dance competition open to all styles and ages, revolving around breathtaking performances and inspiring moments. It will showcase dancing in an unprecedented, spectacular way,” said Quebecor Content VP Yann Paquet, in the news release. “Highway Entertainment is a partner of choice with a global reputation and we are joining forces with them on this project to bring this major new format to audiences around the world.”
“Highway Entertainment is passionate about content and we believe Canada is a great proving-ground for launching formats worldwide,” added Highway Entertainment president and CEO Adam Ivers. “We see tremendous potential for a fresh dance concept to capture the imagination of audiences. We’ve been looking for some time to partner with Quebecor Content and Revolution is an engaging, original, brand-friendly project that grabbed us immediately. We knew at once this was a project we needed to embrace. The concept is a show-stopper that will captivate all generations.”
