Quebecor appoints new VP of acquisitions and international distribution

MONTREAL — Christine Maestracci has been promoted to vice-president of acquisitions and international distribution for Quebecor Content, the company announced Monday.

Previously senior director of acquisitions, Maestracci (pictured) will continue to be responsible for the acquisition of content and formats for all of the TVA Group and Club illico platforms. In addition to this role, she now has responsibility for the international distribution of Quebecor’s content and formats. She remains under the direction of Yann Paquet, vice-president of strategy and international affairs at Quebecor Content.

According to the news release, Maestracci’s appointment is part of Quebecor Content’s desire to promote the talent of local creators and artists in international markets by selling the company’s formats and programs around the world.

“In recent years, Christine has played a key role in the success of Quebecor Content, the TVA Group channels and Club illico. Her leadership, experience, vision and knowledge of the international market will be major assets to accelerate the deployment of our formats and content around the world,” said Paquet, in French, in the news release.

Maestracci has been with Quebecor since 2003 and has more than 20 years of experience in entertainment and digital media. A lawyer by training, she is also chair of the board of directors of the Femmes du cinéma, de la télévision et des médias numériques (FCTMN) organization.

“It is an immense privilege to represent the exceptional content of Quebecor Content and our producer partners internationally, as well as to continue to lead the passionate and experienced acquisitions team,” added Maestracci in the release.
