Quebec court approves BCE’s acquisition of Astral

MONTREAL - The Quebec Superior Court has offered its blessing to BCE's purchase of Astral. After reviewing the proposed $3.5 billion deal, the court declared Friday that the arrangement is fair to shareholders of Astral. Astral’s shareholders also voted in favour of the buyout this week. Pending regulatory approval, the acquisition is anticipated to be completed in the second half of the year. www.astral.com www.bce.ca
