Quebec a step closer to taxing Netflix

QUEBEC CITY – It appears as though Netflix will be taxed in the province of Quebec after all.According to a La Press report, provincial finance minister Carlos Leitao has sent a letter to his federal counterpart Bill Morneau asking the Feds to reconsider the decision to not tax the online-streaming service.The report says that Quebec must notify the federal government at least 60 days in advance of its intention to contravene the current agreement on the harmonization of the QST and the GST, which would happen if the province levied a tax on Netflix.A provincial sales tax on Netflix users...
