MONTREAL – Quebecor’s advertising sales division Québecor Expertise Média announced today Questions de fond (Substantive Issues), a co-branded podcast from QUB radio and Desjardins Group, is now available.
“In keeping with its commitment to work with Quebec partners to produce and broadcast new content, Desjardins and its partner media agency, Glassroom, asked QUB radio to develop this project,” a press release explains.
Questions de fond is a five-episode podcast series hosted by Léa Stréliski that “tackles social issues that matter to young adults, reflecting concerns for the present and future – issues like the environment, diversity and regional development. In each episode, Léa Stréliski talks with engaging and committed citizens that are working today to build the Quebec of tomorrow.”
The podcast “steers clear of the traditional interview/testimonial format and goes for a more human approach, focusing on organizations that make a positive difference for people and communities,” the release says. It was initiated as part of the Desjardins GoodSpark Fund.
“The GoodSpark Fund is committing $250 million to support projects that enrich the lives of people and communities, and that have a sustainable influence on socioeconomic development, offering concrete solutions to social issues,” said the Desjardins team, in the release. “What could be better than giving a voice to the game-changers who are leading these projects.”
“Podcast listenership has been on the rise for several years in Quebec,” said the Glassroom team. “And with the growing popularity of remote working and virtual meetings, people who need a break from their screens are turning to audio content more than ever before. For us, it was only natural to go with audio as a way to showcase these local agents of change. The goal was to create a podcast series that was entertaining, educational and heartwarming.”
Questions de fond is produced by Quebecor’s QUB radio and Qolab in collaboration with BleuBlancRouge. Bastien Gagnon-Lafrance is the producer and Philippe Séguin is in charge of post-production.
