TORONTO – Bell Canada has included its Personal Video Recorder (PVR) in its new Bell Better Home service bundles, the company announced Monday.
As a result, consumers can now subscribe to home phone, Internet and digital TV from Bell, including a PVR, in the monthly packages that begin at $79.95.
Bell is the first provider in Canada to include a PVR in all its service bundles, including its lowest priced packages, Bell stated in a media release.
“PVRs have become one of the most sought-after devices for the home and Bell is making it easier than ever for Canadians to enjoy their unique benefits,” said Kevin Crull, president of Bell Residential Services. “In every one of our Bell Better Home service bundles, we offer consumers the best PVRs in Canada with the largest recording capacity and exclusive features to take complete control of their TV viewing experience.”
Bell affiliated direct-to-home satellite TV distributor Bell ExpressVu doesn’t at this time offer video-on-demand (VOD) – a feature that has proved popular with cable subscribers. Offering the PVR will provide satellite TV subscribers with more flexibility in when they watch their programming.
Bell has several PVRs, which offer up to 200 hours of recording capacity, including the ability to record HD programming, one-button recording directly from the nine-day on-screen programming guide, pause and replay live TV, and a 30-second skip-forward button that allows commercials to be skipped.
