Pushing viewers’ buttons: TMN launches multi-platform campaign for streaming service

TORONTO – TMN is rolling out a marketing campaign in Eastern Canada for its new video streaming service, The Movie Network GO (TMN GO). The on-air, radio, online and out-of-home ads are anchored by an original spot created by The Movie Network’s in house creative agency, and will reinforce the message that something big has arrived for subscribers. TMN GO is a new video streaming service that gives subscribers access to The Movie Network, HBO Canada and The Movie Network Encore (TMN Encore) programming whenever, wherever, from their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC.

“We just announced a game-changing free new product that offers subscribers unparalleled choice, convenience and control, and now we want to ensure our consumers know they have access to it,” said Peter Furnish, Vice President, Marketing, Astral Television Networks. “We also want to engage potential subscribers and provide a compelling call to action by showcasing TMN GO, its premium content offering and the strong value proposition that now comes with a subscription to The Movie Network.”

Beginning today, subscribers will see a :60 sec TMN GO launch spot airing on The Movie Network, HBO Canada and TMN Encore. The spot features an original song and depicts subscribers in a variety of scenarios watching TMN GO on assorted mobile devices. The spot is the final version in a three-part tease campaign that began airing last fall in anticipation of TMN GO’s launch.

An outdoor campaign will also run on Astral Out-of-Home advertising faces throughout the GTA and Ottawa including transit shelters and billboards. The campaign will feature three executions that highlight key elements of TMN GO’s offering: Hollywood hit movies, series from HBO and Showtime and the product itself.

Radio spots also began airing today on Astral radio stations in Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, St. Catharine’s and Montreal (English). The :30 sec spots will highlight key TMN GO features including portability, convenience, programming exclusivity and the “Free with a subscription” message.

Finally, a new mini-site is now live, providing consumers with a dedicated online resource for information about the product and its offerings. The mini-site includes an extensive FAQ section, how to videos and information on how to subscribe. Banner ads will also appear on sites affiliated with Bell and Cogeco and a TMN GO newsletter will go out to subscribers highlighting the new and exclusive content that’s available each week.
