Public Mobile rolls out U.S. data roaming

TORONTO – Public Mobile is offering U.S. data roaming for its customers with Android smart phones.

The wireless upstart said that Android customers may talk, text and data outside of their unlimited coverage area after depositing money in their assigned ‘wallets’.   Public’s cost of data roaming is $1.50/megabyte of data when the customer is in the roaming area, while U.S. roaming rates are 15-cents a minute to send or receive a call, and incoming texts are free and outgoing texts are 15-cents.

"Good value is important to us, and it's important to our customers," said CEO Alek Krstajic, in the announcement.  "We are growing with our customers' needs and recognize how important it is for them to have affordable service with predictable costs when they travel in the U.S."
