
TORONTO – Canadian factual producer Proper Television has named Matt Mitchell as its new development producer as it moves to broaden its presence in the U.S. market.
Mitchell, who joins the company from Muse Entertainment, will focus on promoting Proper Television’s slate of reality, lifestyle and documentary content south of the border. He joins development producer Mike Armitage, and Brenda Myers, who has been promoted to development manager.
"Proper Television has made strong headway in the U.S. and we are committed to continuing our expansion stateside," said president Guy O'Sullivan, in the announcement. "Matt brings his unique experience with U.S./Canada co-productions and partnerships to our rapidly growing slate of original productions, and with strong, existing relationships within the U.S., he is perfectly positioned to lead the further expansion of our business."
Proper Television is behind original productions like Vegas Rat Rods and Don't Drive Here, to international formats such as MasterChef Canada, Canada's Worst Driver, and Come Dine with Me Canada.
