TORONTO – Primus Telecommunications Canada unveiled its new leadership team under CEO Michael Nowlan, as the alternative telecommunications service provider undergoes a self-described “transformation”.
Nowlan, who joined Primus in January after 12 years as president and CEO of Marketwired, said that new team “will fundamentally change the way Primus goes to market and does business”.
That team includes:
– Walter Andri, senior vice-president, Sales: Andri is an experienced senior sales leader and business transformation specialist with a proven track record of leading global B2C and B2B businesses in the technology, telecommunications, retail and food and drug sectors. Prior to joining Primus, he was VP of small and medium business at Telus, VP channels for Koodo Mobile, and part of the original team that launched Virgin Mobile in Canada.
– Bradley Fisher, senior vice-president, Marketing and Product: An accomplished marketing and product leader, Fisher has experience delivering leading-edge products and services in the wireless, video, telecommunications and internet sectors in both Canada and the U.S. Prior to joining Primus, he served as SVP strategy and marketing for Hawaiian Telcom and held a range of roles at Bell Canada, Bell Mobility, Perle Systems, and CIBC.
– Peter Garand, senior vice-president, Client Experience: Garand is a transformational technology business leader with more than 25 years of experience in network and technology architecture, systems integration, process engineering and client experience. Prior to Primus, he held a senior executive leadership role with Sigma Systems and served as VP program management and strategic initiatives at Rogers. Prior to that, he was a partner with Ernst & Young/Cap Gemini's Telecom/Technology Enablement group and an executive in Accenture's Communications Industry group.
– Tamara Flemington, vice-president, Information Services and Project Management: With more than 20 years of experience leading technology teams, Flemington is a proven business and technology executive. Prior to joining Primus, she architected, developed and supported the systems required to start up Mobilicity. She also held senior roles at Telus in IT and business transformation and established a Global Program Office for CIBC.
Rounding out the team are Maureen Merkler as vice-president, Human Resources; Jill C. Schatz as general counsel and vice-president, Law; and Gerry Vanderpost as vice-president, Finance.
"As our leadership team starts to enhance our network and tailor our services to meet the evolving needs of our customers, what remains consistent is that our customers always come first," said Nowlan, in the announcement. "And as the Canadian telecommunications sector continues to undergo significant change from increased competition, new technologies and demand for world-class connectivity, delivering an outstanding experience to consumers and businesses across the country will remain paramount."
