Primus expands unlimited Internet, home phone service to BC, Alberta

TORONTO – Competition in British Columbia and Alberta could get a little tougher with news that Primus Canada is launching its home phone and high speed Internet services in the two provinces.

The alternative communications company said Thursday that the “majority of households” may opt for home phone plans starting at $25.30 per month, and digital home phone (VoIP) plans starting at $9.99.  Internet customers may select unlimited usage with download speeds of up to 7 Mbps, which includes anti-spam and e-mail virus protection plus 24/7 technical support.

The Primus Triple Value Bundle offers home phone service with three calling features, unlimited high speed Internet, and unlimited worldwide calling within Canada, the U.S. and 50 countries for $85.35 per month.

"We're proud to provide Canadians with more value for their dollar, a wide selection of consumer telecommunications services and Canadian-based customer service and technical support," said Rob Warden, SVP of residential services, in the announcement.  "Today's expansion means that more than 2 million households in BC and Alberta can access Primus' full range of services including reliable phone service and bundled plans with unlimited Internet at affordable prices."
