SEATTLE – The Thursday Night Football schedule on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch kicks off Thursday, September 26th, and the company has some new features in store for viewers.
Its “X-Ray for TNF” will let fans watch the game and consume stats without missing a play. “This season, X-Ray brings some of the same Next Gen Stats previously available only to coaches and announcers to all TNF fans on demand, on every play and at their fingertips, driving a deeper appreciation for the on field action. Fans can dive into leading edge insights like a quarterback’s average time to throw, a running back’s average yards after contact and a wide receiver’s average yards of separation, which are enabled through Next Gen Stats’ real-time player tracking,” reads the press release.
Amazon is also launching NFL Next, a new 30-minute live show available exclusively on Prime Video at 7 p.m. ET each Thursday, produced by NFL Films. It will feature insight and commentary from former player Chris Long, NFL Network’s Kay Adams and Next Gen Stats expert James Koh. NFL Next will host featured guests including current and former players.
Hosts Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer also return to provide commentary, in addition to leading play-by-play and analysis.
Prime Video is once again producing multiple audio options, too, allowing football fans around the world to hear the default Fox broadcast, Storm and Kremer or U.K. English language broadcasters Derek Rae and Tommy Smyth.
(Ed note: Hey Amazon, how about one with just the stadium audio?)
Prime members in the U.S. and Mexico also have access to Fox Deportes, the Spanish-language broadcast.
TNF will also be available to Twitch viewers, including co-streamed commentary from popular streamers on Twitch’s interactive social video service.
Thursday Night Football games air in Canada on Fox, NFL Network, Amazon Prime Video, TSN and DAZN.
Amazon also launched five new Echo devices today, which will start shipping later this year. Click here for more on that.
