TORONTO – Shaw Media and Sony Pictures Television have reached an agreement that will extend the run of long-running daytime dramas The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives on Shaw’s Global Television through the 2015-16 TV season.
Now in its 41st year, The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on Global TV at 4:30 PM ET/4:00 PM PT, while Days of our Lives, now in its 49th year, airs weekdays at 1:00 PM ET/PT.
“Since their inception, The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives have continuously revolutionized the soap opera genre and captivated generations of loyal and passionate fans”, said Kevin Byles, SVP of international distribution, Canada for Sony Pictures Television, in the news release. “Sony Pictures Television is proud to continue its fruitful relationship with Shaw Media to bring these iconic daytime dramas to Canadian viewers for years to come.”
